Visiting a Mārae

If you want to go to a mārae here are some tips about the rules

Entering the marae

When you go to a Mārae you need to go through the entrance wich is the triangle with the Mouri patterns on it. When you walk in the woman go at the front and at the back goes the men. You will need a powhiri, When you sit down the men sit in the front to protect the women.

The whare's

You have to take your shoes off when you go into the Wharenui as well as phones, keys and all of that stuff, and all the other whare's are not aloud that either except the wharekei.

The wharekei

When it is food time (breakfast, morning tea, lunch, tea and pudding) you go into the wharekei and the chefs will cook or bake your meal. You are most likely to get yum things than yuk.
