PE term 4
WALT: develop fundamental skills required for athletics.
WILF: - Correct technique for throwing the discus and shotput.
Correct technique for long jump and high jump.
Passing the baton accurately in relay sprints.
I am proud of my high jump because I never practiced it. It was a challenge for me to do discis because I hurt my arm earlier but I still did good. My next step is to do the shot put without clicking my arm. Next year I would like to do better at high jump because I usually do better at it. My best event was long jump because I always practice it at the waimarama beach.
WALT: develop the skills or batting, bowling, throwing, and fielding in cricket
WILF:
- overarm throwing when fielding
- catching with hands held like a basket
- straight arm bowling
- eyes on the ball and move the bat all the way through when batting
The skill I am best at is batting because I like playing batter at home doing backyard cricket. My next step is to be a more accurate boller.
Reading term 4
WALT: listen to a novel and reflect on the story as we thing about the characters, settings, plot and the authors purpose.

Writing term 3 with Mrs Leach— waimarama hall
WALT: understand and apply spelling rules in writing. My next step is to probably add more detail. Here is my 'waimarama hall' story.
THE WIAMARAMA HALL
My Mum, Dad, brother Liam, Jane (Jane is my Mum’s friend) and Me were of to waimarama for my Nana’s 70th on the term 2 holidays. I went in my Mum’s car with the budgie's’ cage, Jane, my Mum and me (there wasn't any speakers at the hall so Liam and my Dad brought it in there car.) in the car we listened to a CD Called ‘I live in a mad house’ which was pretty funny.
When we got to the hall my Nana and most of her friends were already there. My Dad and Me then went to the river mouth, we started making big sand slides (and also made the biggest sand slide that I've ever seen.) then we made a dam made out of two logs which failed. (Well that was pretty dumb, that it broke.)
That night when I went to bed I could here my Nana and her friends (all of her friends were there now.) dancing to the music that was playing on the speakers that my dad took in his car, I went to sleep a little while later than I normally would fall to sleep.
When I woke up and went into the dining room; only my Nana, Jane and a couple of her friends were up and in their dressing gowns making breakfast. I ate my breakfast and hurried off to help the rest of my family pack up to go home. It didn't take long to pack because of the fact that they already did most of it. When we did finish packing we said goodbye and set off to go home.

Writing workshop with Mrs Leitch
WALT: write an explanation about why leaves change colour in autumn
why leaves fall off trees in autumn
why we have different seasons
WILF:
- a general introduction that introduces the topic.
- ideas grouped into paragraphs with each paragraph focusing on a different idea.
- a variety of different sentence lengths.
- consistent appropriate tense throughout.
- a conclusion that sums up the topic. Here is my explanation.
Why do leaves fall off the trees?
Trees need (water and sun) energy to grow which they can't get in winter.
The energy trees need are made up of water, sun heat and sunlight which power there leaves, to grow. The roots reach the water under ground and the leaves absorb the heat and light, which gets turned into food.
Deciduous trees lose their leaves but some trees don't because they have really deep roots, these trees also have big amounts of leaves spread out along the trees to get more heat, light and water to make food, these trees are called evergreen trees.
Trees shed their leaves in winter, because there's not enough light p, heat and water so they lose leaves and save energy in their trunk and survive throughout winter. They then grow another layer of leaves to shed again the next year.
Trees keep their energy in there leaves in summer and spring but then it starts turning to winter and the tree thinks “Oh I need to shed my leaves and put my energy in my trunk and store it”
So alway when you're playing with some leaves think of all of what the leaves and tree have gone through to survive.
My next step is to make my work more detailed.

Writing 100
WALT: write a story any sort of story, except with one extra rule; to only use one-hundred words.
(this is my story)
The dolphin came out of nowhere when I saw it. (and I did see it.) it was 12.6 tons, I now that because I put a scale under it. It walked over to a baby which said "come over here and wait for the time when penguins live." In a very deep manly voice, and then out of the blue came
A penguin (it was living.) it smashed into a car and died. "So sad." Said the baby. The dolphin
Turned his head and died. I woke up with a start, I looked out the window and died.
So the end.
My next step is to make it more descriptive but still with one-hundred words.
